Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 81

“What do you call cheese that is not your cheese?” Nacho Cheese!

In this episode, Kim talks about getting humor into your Facebook Sales Strategies. Humor creates more engaging fans, engaging prospects, getting more attention, and making your post go viral.

Here are a few ways you can do that with you social media content!

If you have a funny picture, invite your fans to post quotes or captions below your pictures.  This strategies notifies everyone within the post, and brings people back to the picture and comments. This is good for free traffic.

Next, is pick a “Common Enemy!”

In your posts make fun of this “Common Enemy.” This creates a private joke between you and  audience.

Share self deprecating humor

Go ahead and poke fun at yourself, or things that you enjoy.

Try some of these with video

Make funny jokes, do tricks, or some slap-stick humor! Or you can share other people videos. Sharing with your audience shows that you want to share your humorous side and build a friendly relationship.  This is a great way to increase your reach and set yourself up for more engagement.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 80

“You deserve to get paid more!”

In this episode, Kim shares with us how to leverage Facebook to get paid what your worth. Kim talks about how to get rid of the “head-trash” and get paid what you’re worth in your industry.

Here are the key takeaways for this episode.

  • Position yourself as not being the cheapest. Because being the cheapest  service is an unsustainable position, and is one the will lead to the business closing. Somebody can always charge cheaper, and when you do, you attract the lowest denominator of possible customers.
  • Do not discount! If you want to use some kind of financial incentive - use a gift certificate - instead of a coupon  or a percentage off.  A gift certificate is a different brand positioning then a discount.
  • Offer a free trial, but qualify them with 1 dollar. Offering it for a bit more suggests its a discount.
  • Put into your messaging that you are not the cheapest.
  • Give and few testimonials of your services that produce he best results like: If you are a marketing company and you helped a customer get the best ROI, or if you’re a financial planner and you helped a customer buy their dream house, etc.
  • Build a blog post talking about how you’re not the cheapest.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 79

“Are you BFFs with your Facebook fans?”

In this episode Kim, talks about the final two tips and tactics to building trust with your audience. In the previous episode we  learned to build a friend relationship or BFF relationship, this will create the rapport that is trusting with those like family, and your audience will be more likely to read your content, utilize an offer, or attend an event hosted by you.

Here are couple more strategies your can implement to build a trusting relationship.

Respond to comments in a personal way!

Instead of just hitting the Like button, comment and talk to them in a familiar way.  Talk to them as if they’re a friend or family member.

Occasionally start your post with a greeting!

In this case, a “Hello” or “Hi there,” is very appropriate. But, occasionally you may want to open with different greetings. These small details will make a difference in your approach with your audience when announcing something new like a big event, post, blog, promotion,   a new product, or service.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 78

“So what does a busy guy or gal got to do to make this happen on Facebook?”

In this episode, Kim talks about how people like to do business with those they know, like and trust.

Kim gives you a few strategies:

  1. You have to treat people like people, and not like nameless groups and masses.   Write your post as if you are speaking person to person.  Use “You” when write to them, “What do you think?”
  2. Put your content to the Friend Test!” If you could cut and paste your content into an email  to a friend, would it sound weird?  If so, rewrite it so sound personal and conversational.
  3. When you are creating video! Talk as if you are speaking  to one person. A “hello guys,” suggest your talking to a group, and is not very personal. But a “Hello there !” or “Its good to see you!” is more center on the one person.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 77

“Facebook gives guidelines on how they want you to talk to your customers, audience, and fans.”

In this episode, Kim talks about Facebook’s “Admins Guide to Page Messaging,” this is a guide for Facebook users to follow. Basically to be able to respond effectively to those outside of your Facebook circle.

Here are some important points on the Facebook Messaging Platform:

  • You can turn messages on when you are ready! If you don’t want to respond to messages you can turn them off under settings.
  • If your are a quick responder, answering 90% of messages under 5 minutes! You will receive “A very responsive to messages badge.” This tells page visitors you will respond to messages when they query you.
  • Facebook is asking us to write the way we would in person. Instead of writing in a formal corporate format, Facebook is asking to messages people in conversational manner.
  • These messaging systems are in place because messaging is interruptive. So only message if it requires immediate attention!
  • For general marketing, Facebook says you should consider boosting a post (Not Recommended), or running an advertisement ( Recommended)
  • Be to the point! Skip all the shenanigans and get to the message point quickly and nicely.
  • New feature, Saved Replies -  is a great user feature to response to repeated questions or frequent topics reoccurring in your messaging.
  • Use Private Replies for sensitive customers complaints, billings request, and other topic that contain sensitive information.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 74

“Facebook is working on a stand alone mobile news application, how does is effect you?”

In this episode, Kim informs us about a mobile news app in the works by Facebook, possibly for the Business Initiative. Kim thinks in maybe somewhat similar to LinkedIn’s Pulse application.

Here are a few details about the app:

  • It is going to be a standalone app.
  • Facebook is going to pilot the app, with a  few companies.
  • You will be about to sign-up with Facebook for the new feed.

According to Business Insider from the UK, the app is in the alpha testing stage. The Business Insider reports, that users will then choose partnering publications they want to follow, including topics, stations and sub-stations. Furthermore, Facebook has chosen only a few companies to partner with, and when there is breaking new theses companies can create mobile notifications as fast as any “Tweet.”

The mobile alerts allow for 100 characters of text,  a URL to the new article, or the publication website. Interestingly, one can’t repost, you can only create content for yourself. This app is specifically for work,  and lets you have only few characters.   Kim mentions this app is taking the best of Twitter and LinkedIn Pulse,  and tying it all together.

Kim shares that when you are creating a content plan, like  email, news letter,  or any kind content. To make sure to include Facebook into the mix, because this is the way people are getting their information.

In this episode, Kim talks about how Facebook wants you to drive conversions on every device with their dynamic product ads.  Dynamic product ads are those that can change based on what is on your site. Otherwise, it changes the ad based on the content you offer. Similar to Amazon, if your visit a product, you get followed around with that ad. That is similar to dynamic product ads.

Facebook recently offered a great stat, stating that people are spending most of their time on  mobile apps, like Facebook and Instagram, not internet browsers.  Last year, during the holidays,  56%  of in store sales were influenced by mobile.  Because of the wide mobile trend, Facebook has released their dynamic product ads to continue the trend.

Dynamic Product Ads platform features:

  • Helped retailers increase conversion rate by 50%
  • Reduce the cost their cost per purchase by 63%
  • Dynamic Ads have cross selling functionality, conversion optimization, and availability on the audience network, or other sites you  can sell on.

“What does Time Magazine have to say about how to use social media to advance your career.”

In this episode, Kim gives some feedback on a recent article published by Time Magazine called “Six Ways to Dial up Social Media to Advance Your Career.” This article offers several great pieces of advice.

The points:

  • Brag a little! -  You may have a LinkedIn profile, and unless your job hunting, your are probably ignoring it. Update it and create a background image.
  • If your over 50, show an energetic picture of yourself.
  • If your are an expert or want to portray yourself as an industry expert, show a picture of you speaking at an event to show your authority in the field. Whatever area you think you offer value in, that is the picture you want to show to convey a message to your prospective employer.
  • Lending Credibility! Show pictures of yourself shaking hands with a famous person or industry expert.
  • Next, pick your platform, Facebook is the best place to do this, because you can tie in demographic information with exactly who you are trying to reach.
  • Build Relationships! Feature others influencers in your content. Maybe top ten bloggers to follow, top ten podcast to listen to, and top ten books to read. Pick people in your industry, write about them, tag them, and you just might be shared in their posts
  • Scripting Your Day! Schedule and make the time to keep up with your post. If you are doing one or two posts a day, make sure you stay consistent. Use a consistent name you go by everywhere, in all your social media platforms, and keep branding consistent everywhere. Lastly, keep your message and voice consistent on all platforms.
  • Follow The Rules! Each social media platform has rules to follow.  Make sure you know what these rules are, so you don't get kicked off and loose your social media outlet.

“Here are more tips on how to use Facebook’s new feature, Facebook Live, to your advantage.”

Another great feature of Facebook Live, is to use it to get testimonials. Mainly, to learn about the experience of individuals who use your product or your services. We will not ask them to give us a testimonial, instead we ask them to talk about the services of our business. And to talk about themselves.

  • Ask them to talk about the services of they used
  • To talk about their project
  • To talk about their business
  • Then ask then to talk about their experience - How was your experience different after you work with us?
  • What were the result with working with us?
  • What are the types of Project we’re going to be working on in the future
  • How did you start working with us?
  • Why would you work with us?

These are all great question to ask your customers, and using Facebook Live will result in a high level of credibility, because it is presented and view live by your customers and audience. This also works as a built-in promotional strategy , because you can download video from the live feed.Next offer an incentive, gift card, gift certificate, a coaching call, etc. As apart of participating in your live event. Then you can use this footage later for your marketing.

Lets start here:

  • Put on your best look for your prospect.
  • Create an cover photo that is going to give the best impression possible, shoe who you’re for and not for.
  • Get the eye of your prospect
  • Share a blog post - some piece of valuable content
  • Retarget your traffic with an opt-in opportunity - general offer
  • When first getting into that funnel ask for the email -  even if they don’t buy
  • Complete the purchase of the product -  also add membership or a free trial membership

Here is another funnel, Kim like to use for Doctor’s offices., but also works for professional services.

  • Start with a blog showing valuable content to your target market
  • Offer them a opt-in opportunity - some sort of lead magnet such as a free report, ebook.
  • Run an ad to schedule an appointment
  • Have them enter in their contact information
  • Which ever email software you use (Mail Chimp, Infusion Soft, A Webber), set it up so someone will get the email to followup

“Have you heard about Facebook’s live video option?”

In this episode, Kim explains how the live video option on Facebook works.  Here is how you can get started if you have a business page and want to have access to these resources.

First, request for you business page to be verified. Easiest way to do this is to download the Facebook Mentions app, at the iOS app store. After downloading the app, link your business page to the app to verify your page.

  • If your page is not yet verified, this will help you to complete a verification request.
  • Once your request is completed, you will get the cool looking blue check mark!
  • Then you can finally use the Facebook Mentions app.
  • This is only available on your iOS device, not a desktop application.
  • This will record video, comment live, and you can load your an MP4 later.
  • You can dual purpose this media for your podcast and live video broadcast.

This is an excellent way to engage your audience, and produce dual purpose content for podcast and live videos

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 59

“How often should you post on Facebook?”

In this episode, we are talking about numbers and frequency!  So how often should you post on Facebook? Answer: It depends. Track to see which numbers work best and track your results to see which work for you.

  • Posting a least twice a day, seems to increase results dramatically.
  • Do some testing, post once and post twice. See which posting frequency give you the best results.
  • You should be consistent, because consistency always wins on Facebook.
  • Your fans visit Facebook different times of the day. So posting once a day is simply not enough. Instead you want to post several different types of content throughout the day.
  • Change it up and start posting Text, Video and Image Text versions of your content
  • You only want 1 of 7 pieces of content about self promotion, and the rest straight content.

In this episode, Kim talks about how you can expand your influence on Facebook. Here is an outline of a few great pointers.

First, reach more influential people!

  • If you tag another person in your post, that will show up on their page and reach their fans too. Kim does a screen shot and sends an email to the person she tagged, thanks them for their encouragement and content.
  • Maybe share their content, but comment and ask question. Then tagged that person again.
  • Ask to enter for you!
  • Interview them for your blog
  • Create content of that person and tag them.
