“How Pixels Work”

In this episode, Kim answers a question from the Marketing Insider Elite page, member Anthony asks how he should setup pixels for his websites.

  • If you are creating accounts for multiple businesses, you will need different pixels. 
  • Facebook has changes things, where you use one universal pixels to track conversions.
  • Tracking is when people perform some action like, filling in a registration form, making purchases, or they perform the behavior that you are looking for. 
  • The pixel should include code for retargeting.
  • Retargeting is tracking someone when they come to your site. 
  • You receive one universal pixel per website. You only have to place it on your website once, then you could setup as many subpages as you want. This is great! But it only works for one business at a time. 
  • So you are going to have to setup a different pixel for every business. But there is only one pixel per account. So if you are doing multiple advertising accounts for different businesses, you will need to setup separate accounts. 
  • Kim suggest setting up a Facebook business manager account if your are handling several business accounts, and you do not need a business manager account if managing one account. This make is easier for the client to only add your business manager account, and not every single staff member working on the account.

“The break down of an effective ad”

In this episode, Kim talks about the break down of an effective ad strategy.

  • Your top ad copy is going to go above the image as your enticing headline. Take a look a  People magazine, Huffington Post, INC magazine, or Entrepreneur. Their top copy is not telling the whole story, but only entice the reader to Click.
  • Start with a strong word in the beginning, like Forget, Ignore, Discover, or Betray. Kim suggests using a strong verb that grabs the attention of the reader. 
  • You want to pull them into a pain point, entice, or a common enemy. Kim suggests something that is controversial and attention grabbing. It should make the reader feel as if they are a co-conspirator.
  • Next, bring the word ‘You’ into it.  Importantly, you don’t want to start describing the article, report, or opt-in. Instead you want to describe what the transformative value of the person will be, if they click-through. For Example: “How You Can Control Your Financial Future.”
  • Make sure the image in your ad is also in your blog post or landing page.  In the blog post image, you want to make the image more editorial looking. Try muted colors with a hint of red. 
  • Down below at the clickable link, we will put the title of the article, so it is enticing to the reader. Then below that we will paste the first paragraph of ad copy down below.  This creates ad congruency on both the ad and landing page, and creates an open loop because the ad is not finished.

Put a link in the description to opt-in. Or you can offer the opportunity to have a conversation by using your cover photo to set up a consultation.
