“How to celebrate holidays effectively on Facebook” 

In this episode, Kim talks about how to deal with the holidays when it come to Facebook. Kim provides us with a few key strategies to unitize and get to most out of special days. 

Here is what you need to know:

  • First, plan them ahead of time. Using Facebook timeline scheduling, Hootsuite, or Edgar, create your post ahead of time and schedule them out. 
  • Post them ahead of time or earlier in the day. Because your audiences will be more likely to share your post throughout the day. This pertains to all the major holiday such as Labor Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc. 
  • Batch out all your posts with great stock photography, in apps such as, Canva, ShutterStock, iStock. 
  • Run a holiday contest! For example post, a picture of your kid in their Halloween costume, share what your want to get of Christmas, and maybe you can win that item. 
  • Run a special holiday promotion, a discount, or a special gift certificate, or an offer for that holiday. Kim mentions the Cyber Monday special where she offers a percentage off of all her training programs. 
  • If you have an international following, make sure to keep a calendar of the interaction holidays to keep up with their holidays and celebrations.

“Facebook updates the way they use Search!”

“Facebook updates their notifications!” 

In this episode, Kim talks about the new update to Facebook Notifications. Kim covers the updates and how this will effect your business!

Customize timely info:

  • You can personalize your notifications by choosing to see your friend’s mile stones, like birthdays and life events. 
  • You can choose sports scores and reminders, base on pages you liked.  
  • You can choose to see up coming events you’ve joined.  
  • You can also get notifications, base on your location, only if you’ve enabled your location history in the Facebook app. This is new in your city, community, weather, movies, etc.  

At this point, your current settings will not change. Note, that you can adjust any of these setting to cater to your needs.  Customize your settings by tapping in the right hand corner of each card, or add more card that the bottom of the tab. 

What does this mean for your business?

  • You should try to use Events in your promotions. Since the new updates give Facebook users the opinion to get notification of events and pages they’ve Liked.
  • If you are a ‘Brick and Mortar’ business, make sure you have set your locations as a local business, not a brand, community, author, etc.  This setting will suggest your business to those using Facebook in your location and will show your reviews. 
  • Since reviews are becoming more and more important. Kim suggests that you encourage your fans to give you reviews.  Remember you cannot ask for Great Reviews, but you can ask for a review!

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 139

“Facebook updates their Ads Policies!” 

In this episode, Kim talks about the new updates to the Ad policies on Facebook. Somethings make ads easier, and some don’t.

Here are a few new changes to take note of: 

  • Facebook does not like the Copy Doodles in the ads. If you like using the CharacterCopyPaste symbols, this may not fly with the Facebook Ads Polices. 
  • You were not allow to use buttons before, but now you can now use button in your ad under certain rules. You should avoid using button that have missing leading buttons  to elements that don't exist, like a ‘Play’ button that suggest video or audio playback.
  • Another change is using  ‘Before and After pictures.’ This is now allowed to add to your advertising strategy. But, your before and after pictures must follow certain criteria, such as people depicting happiness and health. Rather than the depiction of physical attributes that may not be obtainable. 
  • Finally, Facebook is no longer allowing Payday Loans, or and kind of Short Term Loans ads in this program.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 128

“What is a business to do when they change their name on Facebook?” 

In the episode, Kim tells us exactly what steps we need follow to complete a  name change of our business.  Here a some simple steps to make that refresh happen.

  1. Click on your ‘About’ below your cover photo 
  2. Click ‘Page Info’ on the left column
  3. Hover of the name section and click ‘Edit’ 
  4. Enter a new name and click save changes

If you don't see these option to change your page role, you may need to go to Facebook Help to find out how to edit your name. You or an administrator will be able to complete the name change.

Another element to think about is changing your About Us, Cover Photo, Profile Picture. Don’t forget to change it in the Lead Magnets that are apart of your post. Also, change it in any kind of  reoccurring posting tool (Edgar, Hootsuite), go to any of those old post and change your name there. Lastly, make sure all the evergreen sales material, sales funnels, are all updated with your new name.

Here are some points of pay attention to:

•Leads Ads hook in to the email address used on Facebook. This maybe an issue, because the email addresses provided are possibly junk email address. 

•New feature allows you find the people who want to hear from your business.  When someone clicks on your lead ad, a form will open with the person's contact information. Their contacts information will automatically populated in the fill boxes based on the shared information with Facebook. The contract information is editable, and is only submitted when the person clicks submit. 

•Facebook assures that Lead Ads are built with privacy in mind.

•New to Leads Ads, are customizable lead ad forms, which you can use open ended questions, or multiple choice questions. So marketer receive the information the they need for their businesses. 

•Each lead ad form contains a standardized or customizable field.

•Advertisers can leave a customized disclaimer. 

•There is a ‘how-to’ to set up your lead ads. It does need to sync with a CRM solution from one of their integrated marketing solutions.  

•Current partners are: DriftRock, Marketo, Meropost, Oracle Marketing Cloud, Sail Thru, and Sales Force. If you’re not using one of these, you will not be able to do this. 

•Facebook shares that if your working with one of their integrated marketing platforms, you can collect lead information in real time.  

•Also, you can collect lead information by setting up a custom integration between your CRM and the Facebook API.  Or you can download lead information to a CSV file.

  • Facebook wants to implement a seamless, fast shopping experience with a new App called Canvas.

  • ‘Buy’ is the new call to action button making purchases easier on mobile. 
  • Facebook is going to put the new product discovery in favorites.
  • Pages can now serve as a retailer’s mobile shopping solution. You can setup a shopping section for your page to take advantage of this feature.

 Here are somethings you should track during your video test:

  • Results - This is the number of people who watch your video in auto-play. 
  • B is cost, This is how Facebook is going to charge you.  
  • C is reach, This is the number of people who were shown your ad during the new feed.
  • Frequency  -  This is number of times the average  person targeted was reached.  
  • E is Clicks, this is how many people click on your ad. 
  • Click Through Rate - This is the percentage of people who click on the ad. 
  • Relevant Score - This is the rating that people are giving it. 
  • Optimize CPM - This is the cost per 1000 impressions. 

Make sure your Frequency is low, your Click Through Rate is high, and your Click Through is low enough that your can still make a profit.

Offer something extra with the product, programmer, or service, that is only available for that day.  Or a short period of time you are running that promotion.  

Limited Registrations

Offer a limited number of registrations. If you are familiar with Groupon, they are good at this strategy.  Another tip is to show a countdown or a timer to evoke action into your audience.

“Facebook releases a new LIKE button!” 

In this episode, Kim talks about Facebook’s news revamp of the Like button. Facebook was talking about a “Dislike” button, but now they reveal Emotions! This opens new possible responses to friends, family, and audience, besides the original “Like” button.

Similar to the Messenger, you can now add doodles to your photo before you upload them to Facebook or timeline. 

What does this have to do about Facebook Sales Strategies?

You can leverage these abilities your consumer has as a business. Why not show them a picture, so they can pick from the Emotions. This is similar to voting, which gives  you a better idea of what they like. Again you can ask them about their thoughts (vote) on an article, blog, a photo, and video. This is another way to get engagement to see what your audience likes. 

Next, you can run a photo contest and ask your audience to add a doodle, a hashtag,  or add an emotion. These are great ways to get them to use the app to engage with you.

  • Go to your business profile
  • Click on the Box that is just left of the box labeled “Like,” this is your Call to Action button. 
  • Then choose Edit Call to Action - One awesome feature in that Facebook will let you customized  this button. 
  • The options you can choose are: Book Now,  Call Now, Contact Us, Send Message,  Use App, Play Game, Shop Now,  Sign-up,  and Watch Video. 
  • Now you tell Facebook what Link you want to put in there - This is an awesome feature that Facebook gives us, because it can be set to send us outside of Facebook.
