“Facebook Promote The App Install”

In this episode, Kim talks about how as apps evolve over time, app businesses should take valuable actions within their apps.

Key Takeaways!

  • When it comes to mobile apps – this is where it is!
  • A Facebook report shows that almost 90% of the time people spend on their mobile phone is spent in apps.
  • 58% of mobile purchases, in the U.S., are made through apps.
  • Not every person who installs an app will take an action in it that is valuable to businesses.
  • 30 days after people install the app - only 6% of them are using the app.
    • This means that not all app installs are created equal.
  • As app businesses evolve – it’s important for the businesses to take valuable actions within their apps.
  • Businesses such as GAMING and MOBILE COMMERCE are seeing success.

"Some Ad Set Ideas”

In this episode, Kim talks about the different ad sets that you can use for your next webinar.

Key Takeaways!

  • For the webinar: Kim ran ads to get people to attend the livecast.
  • Different types of audiences we targeted:
    • Audiences between $3-$8 per lead - to get them to register for the webinar.
  • We spent $1,300 on Facebook ads.
    • We brought in thousands, and thousands of dollars, because of this.
  • Between our e-mail list and Facebook ads we had about 900 people register for the event, and almost 300 people attended.
  • Our cost per sale was incredible!
  • Different ad sets:
    • Warm traffic ads
    • Other people’s fan pages
    • Social media examiner plus friends of fans
    • Accounts plus Facebook page admins. – this one didn’t perform as well.
    • Those who have seen a video of Kim’s before – it was worth testing.
    • A look-alike of our webinar conversions
  • Hopefully this list gives you some ideas!

“Accelerating Your Adspend”

In this episode, Kim talks about the two different ad delivery options available through Facebook Ads Manager.

Key Takeaways!

  • We were going through our latest livecast campaign – and Kim was showing them the different ad sets Kim had set-up.
  • I noticed a new feature on Ads Manager:
    • Being able to choose “accelerated” or “standard” delivery of your ads.
    • This has been offered for a while on Power Editor.
  • This is how you can manage how your ads are delivered:
    • 2 different options – standard or accelerated
    • Delivery type
    • For most ads - Facebook suggests that you use the “standard” delivery option.
      • To help your budget.
    • Or time sensitive campaigns – use “accelerated” delivery.
      • Kim thinks this makes a lot of sense if you are trying to run a campaign to get people to opt-in to a webinar, etc.
  • Keep in mind these things for “accelerated” delivery option...
    • 1.) You are required to use manual biddings you can control the maximum price of your ad delivery.
    • 2.) Also, choose maximum cost bidding rather than average cost bidding.
    • 3.) The ads still need to be reviewed.
      • Submit your ads in adequate time!
    • 4.) Potential higher costs.
    • 5.) Early budget spend.
  • Kim loves this fact that you can help jumpstart your next campaign.

"How Do You Thank Your Customers and Make More Sales”

In this episode, Kim talks about giving your members a special bonus for being a member!

Key Takeaways!

  • We wanted to thank our current members, and give them a special bonus.
  • Kim posted in that group, that before they ordered, they should use a different link to order – because we were giving them a special discount to members.
  • Not only were our members happy – 50% of the sales, during the livecast, were by members who used that link.
  • Very effective!
  • If Kim didn’t post that link – sales might not have happened.
  • Members were reminded of why it’s awesome to have their membership – something special just for them!
  • Use your Facebook Group – to give your members/clients/customers special perks and values that nobody else gets.
  • For your next launch – offer a special price just to your members, and post it in your Facebook Group.
  • Get cranking on that! ☺

  • We broke the Livecast into three segments:
    • 1.) Powerpoint Presentation
    • 2.) Demonstration
    • 3.) Q&A
  • Each segment we broadcasted, and did it also as a Facebook Live Video.
  • Our Facebook Live Video broadcasted for the entire hour.
  • After the 1st hour, we saw something amazing that happened...
  • When we got off from Segments #1, from #2, and from #3...
    • Kim ran Facebook Live Video for an entire hour.
  • During the 1 hour – 120 people tuned in live – and it reached out to 430,000 people!!
    • With no paid reach!
    • Purely organic!
  • It didn’t stop there – each segment had reached hundreds of thousands of people.
  • It was amazing!
  • This taught Kim that if you want to reach more people through Facebook Live Video – run a longer video.
  • Facebook wants you to have longer, and more in-depth content.

Key Takeaways!

  • Today – we are talking about “what do you do right before you launch?”
  • How to use Facebook Live, and other Facebook ads in order to support your launch.
  • Kim used Facebook Live, yesterday, to show people the inside scoop as to what’s going on.
  • People like this because it shows....
    • That Elite Digital Group is a real office.
    • Real People / Real Staff.
    • This creates a whisper campaign.
  • We are going to run Facebook Live Video during the event, too.
  • Another thing we did was we ran 1 more ad – during the live cast between 12:00-4:00 PM.
    • Directly with a link to the live broadcast page.
    • This is a good reminder too all.
  • We also launch a few more ad sets, to reach additional people:
    • E-mail list
    • Facebook Fans
    • Kim likes to get as much people, last minute, to register for the event.
  • Conclusion for last-minute planning:
    • Plan ahead of time...

  • Her giveaway makes a lot of sense, because it is relevant to her content.

    • Thread it together with some kind of theme.
  • The day of the event – Kim offers content about getting on the Live Cast.

“Why You Always Have To Split Test”

In this episode, Kim talks about split testing your ads to see which ones are the most successful.

Key Takeaways!

  • Kim is running all these different ads to get people to register for Livecast, and Elite Digital Group is analyzing the results of the success of their ads.
  • Of the 6 ads, 3 of the ads had Kim’s and Kelly’s face on them, and the other 3 did not.
  • The results of the ads are...
    • The #1 ad that is doing the best is the one that has their faces on them.
      • No big surprise
    • The #2 ad that is doing the best has no faces on it.
  • If Kim never had completed a split test, she would never have seen these results.
  • Never, ever assume what ad will do the best, because these results are kind of surprising.
  • Kim likes to segment her ad sets.
    • Break apart the ads and see what’s performing the best.
  • Interesting food for thought – think about how you are testing.
  • Test another ad, test another interest group, and put it as a separate group so you can really filter through the targeting.

“A Strategy To Save Time When You Plan To Run A Campaign For Several Months…”

Key Takeaways!

When you know you are going to have a long term campaign. Why not spend some time scheduling out your AD TESTS.

Building Out an Ad Testing Matrix:

  • Make a chart of each, every five days with the next thing you are going to test.
  • Setup your first test with your base copy - One copy, one click copy, one copy below, and 6 images.
  • Then, on the winning 6 images you then test something different. Which can be audience, button copy, different top copy, different click copy.
  • Crazy thing to test for is a button or no button on your ad. We found that ads with no button actually perform better.
  • Test six different buttons if you have to, to see if they are successful for your ads.
  • Make sure to build out your tests ahead of time in your matrix!

  • Why would you want to do that? Ads take time to optimize!
  • So you would want to spend less in the first few days and let Facebook do its magic and optimize your ads.
  • They recommend that you never increase your bidding more that 50 percent. Or else Facebook will not be able to optimize it for you.

Key Takeaways!

We are live today at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.

  • Something happened weird at church today:
    • A man came into the building, sat down in the front pew, unloaded his bag, put on sunglasses, and then he left the church.
    • Kim was brave and had her ex-Marine, tall husband go up to the front and checkout the area.
    • The police were called to investigate.
  • This story isn’t meant to scare us, but it brings up a good point...
    • If something isn’t right – people notice.
  • This is true about your business pages on Facebook.
  • Social media is just that – to be social.
    • When businesses ignore holidays – people notice and it can stick out like a sore thumb.
  • 2.) Write out text for each image.
  • 3.) Create holiday messages onto the holiday images.

"Creating Content That People Actually Care About”

In this episode, Kim talks about focusing your ad content to be about the consumer, rather than your business.

Key Takeaways!

  • Creating content that people actually care about.
  • Kim saw some ad in the Chicago airport, that said: “You should follow us on Facebook/Twitter”, but they didn’t say “why” I should follow them.
  • Give them some kind of incentive.
  • You should make the content about THEM, not about you.
    • Big brands make this mistake all them time!
  • Perhaps they could have chosen content that said:
    • Be alerted for a contest...
    • Be alerted about parking...
    • Special discounts at the eateries at the airport...
  • Conclusion: Make it about them!
