Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 69

“What does Time Magazine have to say about how to use social media to advance your career.”

In this episode, Kim gives some feedback on a recent article published by Time Magazine called “Six Ways to Dial up Social Media to Advance Your Career.” This article offers several great pieces of advice.

The points:

  • Brag a little! -  You may have a LinkedIn profile, and unless your job hunting, your are probably ignoring it. Update it and create a background image.
  • If your over 50, show an energetic picture of yourself.
  • If your are an expert or want to portray yourself as an industry expert, show a picture of you speaking at an event to show your authority in the field. Whatever area you think you offer value in, that is the picture you want to show to convey a message to your prospective employer.
  • Lending Credibility! Show pictures of yourself shaking hands with a famous person or industry expert.
  • Next, pick your platform, Facebook is the best place to do this, because you can tie in demographic information with exactly who you are trying to reach.
  • Build Relationships! Feature others influencers in your content. Maybe top ten bloggers to follow, top ten podcast to listen to, and top ten books to read. Pick people in your industry, write about them, tag them, and you just might be shared in their posts
  • Scripting Your Day! Schedule and make the time to keep up with your post. If you are doing one or two posts a day, make sure you stay consistent. Use a consistent name you go by everywhere, in all your social media platforms, and keep branding consistent everywhere. Lastly, keep your message and voice consistent on all platforms.
  • Follow The Rules! Each social media platform has rules to follow.  Make sure you know what these rules are, so you don't get kicked off and loose your social media outlet.

“Do you want to go on vacation and have your social media continue to work for you?”

In this episode, Kim talks about planning out your social media efforts ahead of time, so you can enjoy a vacation. If you’re planning to go off the grid, then here is what you have to do to keep up with your social media posts.

  • Use the Facebook scheduling tools available to you.
  • You can schedule your post to go live, both on mobile and desktop versions.
  • Find someone to respond to comments while you are gone. Maybe, ask a friend, family member, a virtual assistant, etc.
  • Or trade with another business owner, who will comment for you.
  • Be transparent and tell followers: “Hey, Kim is out, I am filling in till Tuesday.”
  • This allows you to be super responsive, so you can take a break.
  • HootSuite and Edgar allow you to schedule out your posts!
  • When you get back from vacation, maybe share a little. Show some pictures. People love taking a glimpse into your life.

And if you like to see growth in your business. Schedule a promotion during your vacation time. When you return you might see some sales and high numbers. This is a great strategy for those who are looking to take a vacation and not worry about the office and social media tasks.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 66

“Here are more tips on how to use Facebook’s new feature, Facebook Live, to your advantage.”

Another great feature of Facebook Live, is to use it to get testimonials. Mainly, to learn about the experience of individuals who use your product or your services. We will not ask them to give us a testimonial, instead we ask them to talk about the services of our business. And to talk about themselves.

  • Ask them to talk about the services of they used
  • To talk about their project
  • To talk about their business
  • Then ask then to talk about their experience - How was your experience different after you work with us?
  • What were the result with working with us?
  • What are the types of Project we’re going to be working on in the future
  • How did you start working with us?
  • Why would you work with us?

These are all great question to ask your customers, and using Facebook Live will result in a high level of credibility, because it is presented and view live by your customers and audience. This also works as a built-in promotional strategy , because you can download video from the live feed.Next offer an incentive, gift card, gift certificate, a coaching call, etc. As apart of participating in your live event. Then you can use this footage later for your marketing.

“How often should you post on Facebook?”

In this episode, we are talking about numbers and frequency!  So how often should you post on Facebook? Answer: It depends. Track to see which numbers work best and track your results to see which work for you.

“Facebook news feed algorithm updates yet again!”

Kim shares the newest tweaks Facebook has made with the Hide Posts Feature.

We learn that Facebook will no longer take into account when people hide posts in their news feed. Facebook did some research and found that is just what some people do - hide post that they do not want to see anymore. Not necessarily meaning they do not want to see post from this person or business. But, maybe just cleaning house!

Facebook recognizes a small group of people who choose to do this practice and it will not affect the poster. It may mean they will only see more posts similar to the ones they like viewing and hide.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 51

“How do you create a competitive advantage when it comes to your Facebook marketing?”

In this episode, Kim shares  a new strategy for leveraging your unique selling proposition in your Facebook marketing. Also, Kim shares some informative concepts from Dave Dee, the chief marketing officer of GKIC.

Kim shares the “how to” on the transformative value. You can look at this by asking yourself, “If I could just_____, in order to_____.” The idea is to not only see the benefit in this, but to ask what is it going to do for your life.

Use this “If I could just_____, in order to_____.”, in your cover photo. Tell them why they should want to pay attention to you, and how are you going to make their lives better. Ask yourself what is the transformative value in doing so. Include this is your short description in your Facebook page.

  • Use 3 lines of text
  • Include how you are going to make their lives different
  • Continue with a link to a landing page from your description
  • This is literally going to turn your Facebook page into a lead magnet

Notice that no other competitor is using this strategy. Most are using their page about themselves, and not about the benefits to your audience. Go ahead and stage a marketing strategy, with why they should work with you, and the transformation your are going to make in their lives.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 49

“This just in, Facebook changes the way they charge for clicks”

A General Practice

Kim shares a general practice for ads campaigns on Facebook. If you’re not getting at least five conversions a day,  try a Clicks Campaign. If the Clicks Campaign does not work, go to an Impression Campaign. This mean your ad is being distributed, but not effective. At this point you will have to fix your ads.

Facebook Changes

Facebook is now changing they want they charge for clicks. Understanding that we want our ads to be more effective, efficient, and get the best results.  Facebook is now only charging for clicks to websites and apps. They will not charge for Likes, Shares, and Comments. In the pass Facebook use to charges for Likes, Shares, and Comments.  If your set up a Click Ad or a Website Conversions Ad,  you will be charge for clicks to your website or click to your app. This we can all agree, is a great change for free engagement.

Facebook Sales Strategies | Episode 46

“More changes from Facebook, this time making improvements to videos!”

In this episode, Kim shares information about the video improvements on Facebook. These features will be familiar and function like YouTube video elements. Here is a run down of these video features.

  • Besides uploading and generating an embedded code for publishing purposes. Facebook is now a publishing platform verses Youtube.
  • You can upload a video to Facebook, and choose to leave it hidden or unpublished. Or share a direct link to this video.
  • You can block other users from embedding your video on other people’s websites. This allows it to be exclusive only to your page or sites.
  • You can now restrict your video to be only view by gender or age, or if you want your content to only go to a certain market.
  • You can make changes to an entire video library at one time. (Ex. name, title, series)
  • You can change the video thumbnail, a great marketing feature.
