But only 9% of person to person recipients click on the shared links regarding these topics. Kim mentions thats this is still great news because when friends and family share content with, we are more likely to pay attention to it.
  • Timely news and political items are less widely shared by 2%. But click through rates are 88% and 77% respectively.
  • Business related items only have a 4% share, but have a 24% click through rate. This is great new for business. Get more people to share it and more people will click them.
  • Heath related item have a 3% share, but a 15% click through rate.
  • Celebrity and Entertainment news only have a 2% share, but have a 40% click through rate. This is a fantastic way to market is to pull your entertainers in and give an incentive to share.
  • Consumer review of products and businesses only have a 1% share, but have a 4% click through rate.
  • Personal Finance items have a 1% share, but have an 11% click through rate.

Kim mentions these numbers are Fan-freak’n-tastic! Also, start giving incentives for sharing your content. Kim urges us to encourage, thank, and feature those who are sharing your content. The best reward is to feature them in your posts and recognize their excitement about the content.

“How do LinkedIn and Facebook Work Together?”

In this episode, Kim shares how we can leverage LinkedIn in your Facebook marketing! Kim reminded us that we are one week away from the launch of, The No B.S. Guide to Direct Response Social Media Marketing book. Join us for a live cast at: www.nobssocialmediabook.com/livecast

Here are a few tips:

One setback on LinkedIn, is you cannot target your connections. However, on Facebook you can upload all your email contacts, and communicate in different ways. You can also create look-a-like audiences, to pursue other leads.

Here is a ‘work-around’ to try on the LinkedIn platform

  • Got to your LinkedIn account
  • Click on your Contacts link
  • In the upper right-hand corner, click Download Contacts -  If this link is not visible in this section, try doing a search for it.
  • Here you can download all your contacts’ email lists, as an Excel file
  • Take this list and Upload to Facebook as a Custom Audience List. You can do this under the Ads Managers -  Audience.
  • Now you can target your custom audience with Facebook Ads.

This is a great way to begin to build trust. You can send them a blog post or sending them straight into an offer, a free report, a webinar, and even a upcoming sale. Kim reminds us these are people who we are already connected to on LinkedIn, we are only using another channel to get their attention.
